Dioxin problems Guar Gum PDF Print
Freitag, 04 April 2008
ImageDear Business Friends,

As we already mentioned in our last Newsletter to you:
Caused by the problems with dioxin residues in Guar Gum that occurred last year, the resp. EU commission meanwhile has compiled a new directive with regard to the importation and distribution of Guar Gums.  Presently, we have to expect that this new regulation will come into force still within April, 2008, and that in future all importers of Guar Gum into the EU will have to submit a Certificate of Analysis for PCP for each imported container load.

Taking this into consideration, we decided to provide our Eurpoean customers with such an analysis for PCP already from April '08 onwards.

Please kindly note that this a.m. document will certify the results of tests that have been made to find out about possible residues of PCP, but not of dioxin. The reason for this is to be found in the circumstance that the EU-commision also formulated their demand for an analysis for PCP. It is to be understood, that in the case of an PCP-concentration of < 0.01 mg/kg in the tested material, also the contents of dioxin will be in range, and thus may be accepted.

Hopefully, this service from our side  can be of some help to you as our customers when handling guar gum.

Yours,
With best regards
