 Dear Business Partner, Meanwhile, even the second quarter of this year will soon have elapsed. Thus, today we should like to make use of the opportunity to send you another Newsletter. You will certainly remember from our last letter that we enforced our IT-department. That enabled us to update our website within the shortest conceivable time. This is the reason why we would appreciate it should you like to visit our website again; you will find that in the meantime our product range has been enlarged. On our website you will also find in future further news about us and our activities in fairly regular intervalls. Agencies Today we take pleasure in informing you that we forthwith took over the exclusive agency for the company HUEY SHYANG Sea Weed Ind. Co. Ltd., China, - within Germany, all other countries in Europe (including Russia), as well as North America ( the United States + Canada). Hereby we are representing one of the top manufacturers of Agar-Agar and Carrageenan-products in China. Please kindly contact our Mrs. Venja Stobbe for your enquiries. Agar-Agar The demand of Agar throughout the last months was rather quiet. This, of course, has its reasons in the present summer saison, when productions in our parts are running low. However, we expect that the prices will remain stable. In spite of rising energy costs, we are in the position to keep our prices, and can still accept Contracts on Call for deliveries right until the middle of next year. Due to the presently favourable exchange rates of the US-$, and due to the thus advantageous prices for raw materials, we should like to recommend that you now covered your demand. Tara Gum This commodity we included in our range of products only recently. The harvest in Peru started slightly belated by the end of April. The main harvesting season is in the months of May, June and July. The prospects are hinting to a normal – good crop this year. Concerning this product, we would also like to suggest that you use the chances and buy your dollars at a favourable rate to cover your demands. (Kindly contact: Mr. Mirko Ahrens) Konjac In this field we, too, can rely on experienced Chinese partners. Concerning this raw material we can see an increase in prices within the near future, since the demand of Konjac is increasing. (Please contact Mrs. Venja Stobbe for further information.) Guar Gum Presently, the Guar market is fairly stable, whatching the developments as the rainy season proceeds. However, demands on the Oil and Gas sector are on peak, and also the Food demand is picking up. Thus, we do not think that Guar prices will come down remarkably in the near future. Consequently, we cannot recommend to conclude big contracts just at this time, but rather buy in advance the neccessary quantities to cover your demands for app. the next 3 months. Shellac Recently, we could observe prices for this commodity, which ranged on a lower level than they had for a long time. Thus, we calculate that prices for Shellac products will tend to rise towards the end of this year. Our Mr. Ahrens lately visited Calcutta, in order to have a look at the new factory built by our contracted partner, as well as – which is even more important – inspect the new technical equipment and watch the modernised production processes.
